THE IDES OF MARCH

§  SoothsayerBeware the ides of March.
§  CaesarWhat man is that?
§  BrutusA soothsayer bids you beware the ides of March.

Shakespeare, Julius Caesar, Act 1, Scene 2, lines 102-105

It’s Saturday, March 15, St. Patrick’s day weekend in the City. There's a St. Patrick’s Day parade on Market Street today starting at 11:30 a.m. that ends in Civic Center. There’ll also be pubcrawls in various neighborhoods throughout SF. (It’s also the date of a Roman holiday when the real Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC.)

In my particular neighborhood there are at least a dozen bars on a ten-block area of Polk Street, more when you count the side streets and Van Ness. So, for many people, I expect it will be a festive, if inebriated, day. Have fun!
