THINGS THAT ANNOY ME #1 – PEOPLE WHO EXPECT THE HOMELESS TO WORK
Would you hire this guy?
What about him?
Would you put these people on the shortlist for the
next job opening at Twitter? How about any job opening anywhere?
No? Then stop expecting them to get jobs. To put it bluntly, many homeless are, unfortunately, fubar human beings. Expecting them to be able to work is like expecting a legless man to be able to run, then yelling at him for being a lazy moocher when he can’t. (If you think a lot of homeless people are either 'faking' it or anywhere near to being functional adults -- well, I don't think you're very observant or realistic.)
And please don’t start with that ‘these-people-don’t-take-their-medication’
nonsense. The last time I checked, medications cost money, and psychiatric meds
can cost a lot of money. Where is
this money supposed to come from? And how are you supposed to get a prescription filled without an address -- or a job?
