Currently
the subject of controversy in the neighborhood over what's to become of the property, the now-empty
Lombardi Sports building still has one of the most colorful murals in
the neighborhood.
Covering
the entire building, the mural is a tribute to extreme sports and baseball.

There's also this
photo of pitching great Lefty Gomez on the east side of the building
which shows
him to be a clear forerunner of Juan Marichal.
Also on the east side is a photograph and a great quote from the founder, Caesar Lombardi.
While the fate of the building has yet to be decided, the mural remains a colorful part of the neighborhood, at least for now.
