DYING, SOON-TO-BE DEAD COMPUTER

If you've been wondering why I haven't blogged in awhile, the answer is in the title.

Hopefully, this will be taken care of by the end of the week.

THE NEVER-ENDING REMODEL: FRANK NORRIS APARTMENTS

The remodeling of the Frank Norris Apartments, begun in November 2014 and last written about on January 28, 2015, continues its glacial pace.

It's been going on for so long that I began to wonder if, instead of a remodel, it was actually an homage to the artist Christo:

Then, suddenly and without any fanfare, a major milestone was recently reached: the southern wall is now covered by scaffolding.

NEIGHBORHOOD MURALS – HEMLOCK ALLEY (#16 in a series)

A new mural has appeared in Hemlock Alley between Sutter and Post.

It covers the outside wall of the Hemlock Tavern, located at 1131 Polk Street. I have no idea who the artist(s) is.

NEIGHBORHOOD CLOSINGS 2015 – BLISS POPS POP-UP (#7 in a series)

Bliss Pops has closed its pop-up location near the corner of California and Polk.

I love their description of why they left:

"...after an experimental pop-up location in this colder, windy part of the city..."

which is very true. While I enjoyed their popsicles, it's almost never warm enough in this part of town for popsicles, except on rare occasions.

I wish them well at warmer climates and festivals.
