NEIGHBORHOOD RE-LOCATIONS – PLANT WAREHOUSE

Neighborhood favorite The Plant Warehouse has moved once more, this time to 1550 California,

into the interior of the old Nob Hill Mall.

The new space affords them not only room for their numerous varieties of plants,

it also provides enough room to offer patrons a chance to relax with a complimentary glass of wine.

UPCOMING LOCAL EVENTS – MAYES PROTEST

About a dozen of these postcards were left in the lobby of my building earlier this week.
This blog has no opinion about this matter one way or the other.
That being said, the hearing is scheduled for Thursday, December 14 at 1:00 p.m. City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlet Place, Room 400.

NEW PAINT JOB, NEW NAME

This is 1499 California.

Just a couple of months ago it was the Cable Car Court Hotel,

which it had been since the 1970s, and possibly earlier. At one time it was a residential hotel that rented only to women.

It's now been repainted and renamed after its street address, which I'm told is a very San Francisco thing to do.

POLK STREET CONSTRUCTION

Polk Street between Pine and California has been undergoing construction since August.

New sewer pipes are being put in and the road re-paved.

Similar construction recently started on the stretch of Polk between Sutter and Post.

This has made commuting and driving more difficult and time-consuming during the daytime on Polk, since that's when everyone is working.
