UPCOMING LOCAL EVENTS – POLK STREET LGBTQ CULTURAL HERITAGE

A workshop to discuss the LGBTQ cultural heritage and history of Polk Street is scheduled for this Tuesday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paulus Lutheran Church, 1541 Polk Street. Refreshments will be served.

NEIGHBORHOOD OPENINGS 2014 (#9 in a series) – TI TI CAFÉ, LUISA’S PIZZA, LA MAMA PIZZA & KITCHEN

There’s been a spate of new openings recently along Polkstrasse (as it used to be known). First up:

TI TI CAFÉ

opened at 1486 Pine Street. Located less than a half-block from the corner of Polk and Pine, Ti Ti’s serves sandwiches, salads, and other tasty foods.

LUISA’S PIZZA & PASTA

UPCOMING NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGS ON JULY 9

There are two meetings happening this evening of local interest.

The first is the 1^st meeting of the Lower Polk Business Collaborative. It will be taking place from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Playland Bar, 1351 Polk Street at Pine.

The second is about the proposed relocation of the behavioral health outpatient clinic of Hyde Street Community Services to 815 Hyde Street.

The meeting takes place from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Old First Presbyterian church, 1751 Sacramento Street at Van Ness.

NEIGHBORHOOD MOTHER’S DAY

San Francisco is said to be a city with more dogs than children.

That may be. In my neighborhood, however, many of the new residents are couples with children. So, in honor of Mother’s Day, here are some photographs of neighborhood moms. Some were taken with permission; others weren’t, but all were taken respectfully.
