After I published a blog on October 1 about the painted fire hydrants of Polk Street, the Oct. 8th issue of the SF Weekly featured a piece about “Cliff”, the man who has been re-painting old, beat-up fire hydrants red and silver around the City. He does this on his own time and dime as a tribute to the fire department. "Cliff" is continuing his city beautification project in our neighborhood at the moment. If you see him, do NOT take his picture or tweet it, as what he is doing is illegal (defacing city property).
