CANARY IN A COAL MINE OR FROG IN BOILING WATER?

This was a news item from January 9 last week.

On that day it was 117 degrees farhenheit in Sydney, Australia. It was so hot that hundreds of bats, aka flying foxes, died in the trees from the heat.

After I saw this, I kept thinking a corner has been turned in the global environment, and not a good one.

While human beings will probably survive the worst effects of climate change, I'm not so sure about the many other living creatures on the planet.
