PROJECT BANDALOOP AT SAN FRANCISCO MAIN LIBRARY

Last Monday, April 18, was the 110th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake. It was also the 20th anniversary of the opening of the San Francisco Main Library at Grove and Larkin.

110-year anniversaries  of earthquake come and go, but 20-year library anniversaries are special. To celebrate, Project Bandaloop, an aerial dance company, performed on the Larkin Street side of the building.

The four dancers moved in graceful arcs across the front of the building accompanied by different types of music

much to the delight of the spontaneous crowd that had gathered to watch the free show.

At the end of the Bandaloop performance, Cheer SF, a cheerleading organization, gave a brief performance

while sugar cookies commemorating the 20th anniversary

were passed out to the crowd.
